LA STRADA WINTER is coming!

The event is the fall version of La Strada Festival which takes place every year in June in Brescia (northern Italy). The playbill of the Winter edition is composed by contemporary circus, theatre, dance and music performances, open air and indoors, in order to let anyone in Brescia and nearby attend the shows even during the coldest month. La Strada Winter is approaching its IV edition since its first one in 2015!

The festival is organized by C.L.A.P.Spettacolodalvivo, which is a member of Circostrada, in cooperation with Brescia Municipality.

Don't miss out on the International Circus Festival En la Cuerda Floja!

November 2- December 3, 2018

The International Circus Festival En la Cuerda Floja aims to be a crossroads between local, national and international artists that nurtures Cantabria. It was born in 2012 as a contemporary circus meeting hosted by Café de las Artes Teatro (CdAT) Thanks to the support and collaboration of institutions and municipalities of Cantabria, the festival has progressively grown to become an annual meeting for audience and artists such as Jerôme Thomas, Maksim Komaro, DeFracto, Stefan Sing, Ilona Jantti, Zoe Maistre, Kim Langlet, Animal Religion, El Núcleo and Roberto Magro.

The festival’s programme combines contemporary circus shows of recognized companies and emerging companies, as well as training workshops for professionals and round tables to encourage reflection and dialogue about circus. The festival is mainly characterized by having an indoor programme for an adult audience and a special focus on quality professional training.

Mark your calendar for LEME: NOV 29 - DEC 2 2018!

Six international shows for Portuguese premiere, a new creation and many moments to think together and discuss in depth, the contemporary circus in Portugal: that is the proposal of 23 Milhas, cultural project of the Municipality of Ílhavo, and Bússola, in the first edition of LEME, a contemporary circus festival in unconventional spaces, in Ílhavo.

The Ílhavo’s territory and its natural, historical and cultural dynamics are at the basis of the creation of the identity of LEME, which takes place during four days, from November 29 to December 2, and which not only presents differentiated creative approaches, as it challenges creation, experimentation and critical thinking.

The festival brings together artists, professionals, trainers, students and enthusiasts from the area to talk about the contemporary circus, participate in the different training sessions or watch itinerant shows in various places of the city.

Cirkobalkana - Non-aligned circus - is back from 14-22.9.2018. in Novi Sad (Serbia)!

Cirkobalkana - festival of contemporary circus in a circus tent, independent space for performance, education and creation is back for its 6th edition. This unique festival in the region is organized by many circus enthusiasts gathered around two organisations: Circusfera from Belgrade and Cirkorama from Zagreb, with the unselfish support of this year's local partners Cirkoneo from Novi Sad.

With the desire of strengthening, development, and support of the circus scene in Novi Sad, Cirkobalkana will be presented to the Novi Sad audience for the first time in the period from September 14-22.

During the nine days of the festival, the audience will have the opportunity to see the most diverse circus fusion and hybrids of six performances from France, Italy, Belgium, Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia, four works in progress of young regional artists, Open Stage, three performances for children of local groups as well a rich accompanying program in the form of musical and fire performances, roundtables, stands, residences and much more that today we call circus. 

Join them in Novi Sad!

The research trip to South Korea, scheduled on October 4-10, 2018, will be the occasion to discover the local circus and street arts scene, to get a better grasp of its context, actors, specificities and challenges, to meet South Korean artists, to visit its main cultural venues, and much more!

To give you a quick overview of what's awaiting you: 

• Seoul Street Arts Festival: the largest street arts festival in Korea, showcasing more than 50 high quality national and international companies performing across downtown Seoul. You will have the opportunity to attend the artistic programme of the festival, to meet local artists and to set up professional meetings.
• Performing Arts Market in Seoul (PAMS): a major international performing arts platform in Korea and the biggest one in Asia. Showcases, booth exhibitions and networking activities will all be part of the event, including thematic roundtables and the presentation of the European focus, which will be the perfect occasion to build new partnerships. 
• Meeting with key local stakeholders to better understand the South Korean context, including members of the new CAN-Circus Arts Network.
• Visit of some of Seoul's most recent and innovative cultural spaces

Last but not least, you will of course have some time to explore Seoul and to do some networking!

The next KAHWA Meeting will take place on November 8, 2018, in Tiznit in partnership with Racines and in the context of the third edition of the General Assembly for Culture in Morocco.

This second KAHWA meeting takes place in the context of a cycle of annual meetings initiated by Circostrada– European Network for Circus and Street Arts (coordinated by ARTCENA– French national centrefor circus, street arts and theatre) with the aim of strengthening, nurturing and developing professional and artistic collaborations between Europe and the countries of the Southern Mediterranean Area. After Tunis in October 2017, Circostrada, in partnership with Racines– network member – are joining forces to organise and moderate a key moment of exchanges and discussion on issues linked to international cooperation and the development of circus and street arts in Morocco.

Don't miss the 11th edition of La Strada Festival in June!

La Strada festival comes back in Brescia (Italy) for its 11th edition in June between 8-10 and between 15-17!

During 6 days, C.L.A.P.Spettacolodalvivo organiser of the festival since 2008, will present you clowns, jugglers, acrobatic duos and companies, dance and music ensemble with specific shows for children on Sunday.

In a nutshell, it represents:

• 38 performances of contemporary circus, urban dance, theatre and music concerts
• 23 companies from 10 different countries
• 3 national premieres 
• 4 focus linked to a performance which is the results of cooperation projects with international networks.
