The Role of Outdoor Arts in Creative Placemaking: Thematic Guide, published by Circostrada in 2024, stems from SPARK#2, a cross-sectoral lab held in Elefsina, Greece. Co-organised with key cultural partners, it gathered artists, architects, and cultural professionals from across Europe to explore how outdoor arts shape spaces and foster community ties. This guide presents a case study on Out There Arts in Great Yarmouth, UK, showcasing its impact through placemaking and its renowned Out There Festival. It highlights successes, challenges, and practices that embed outdoor performance into local life. As part of its 2024–2028 CS VOICES project, Circostrada will continue this exploration with case studies tied to major events like FRESH STREET #5 and upcoming Annual General Meetings. This guide aims to inspire arts organisations to reimagine public space as a site for cultural connection and social cohesion.
