ARTCENA IS HIRING A COORDINATOR OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND PROJECTS

ARTCENA, Centre national des Arts du cirque, de la rue et du théâtre, has been commissioned by the French Ministry of Culture to implement a federated policy of resources, advice, development and networking for these three sectors. It supports professionals in carrying out their projects and building the future of the circus, outdoor and theatre arts.
Comprising a team of 27 staff members, it develops its activities around three key areas:
- Sharing knowledge through online resources, information and multimedia publications;
- Supporting professionals and developing sectors, through advice, training and support for start-ups;
- International deployment, through the management of networks (Circostrada, Contxto, etc.) and the coordination of events abroad.
Since 2003, ARTCENA has coordinated Circostrada, whose mission is to develop and structure the contemporary circus and outdoor arts sectors in Europe and around the world. With over 160 member organisations from more than 45 countries, the network contributes to building a sustainable future for these sectors by empowering cultural actors through the production of resources, observation and research, professional exchanges and information sharing. ARTCENA is developing other initiatives, such as Contxto, an international network for the translation and distribution of French-language dramatic texts, and Perform Europe (through Circostrada). It also coordinates France's presence at the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space on behalf of the Ministry of Culture.
Working closely with the two international project managers and ARTCENA's functional departments, your main tasks will be:
Main tasks
- As part of the Circostrada network ;
- Coordinate the network in liaising with the steering committee and ensure its proper governance (working committees, external evaluation, etc.);
- Design and supervise the drafting of the project and grant applications;
- Steer the implementation of the project, design and coordinate the programme of activities, identify and set up partnerships, define the resources to be produced and their distribution;
- Monitor and execute the budget, supervise the drafting of technical and financial reports;
- Develop the network and the collaborative dynamic, act as the network's interface with its members;
- Define the network's communication strategy and raise its profile;
- Ensure external relations, in particular regular connections with the EACEA and DG EAC;
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of Perform Europe.
- Take part in representing ARTCENA and Circostrada at international events and projects and in other networks and institutions (IETM, CAE, On the Move, IF, etc.);
- Develop Contxto, an international network for the translation and dissemination of French-language dramatic texts;
- Steer and manage the setting up of the French pavilions at the Prague Quadrennial;
- Seek funding and international partnerships consistent with ARTCENA's projects;
- Support and advise foreign operators wishing to work in France or with French operators, as well as French operators wishing to work internationally;
- Monitor the structuring of outdoor arts, contemporary circus and theatre in Europe and internationally (identifying players and their projects, support schemes) and promote the results of this monitoring to ARTCENA users in the form of guides, information; and training workshops.
Description of the profile sought
Knowledge
- Experience in managing and organising international projects;
- Very good knowledge and proven experience of support schemes for European and international projects (particularly Creative Europe);
- Good knowledge of the performing arts, particularly the contemporary circus and outdoor arts field;
- Fluency in French and English required; knowledge of other foreign languages appreciated;
- Proficiency in office automation tools.

Permanent contract, starting as soon as possible.
Remuneration based on experience and the SYNDEAC collective agreement salary scale, executive status.
Location: Paris (75011), France.
Specific constraints of the job position: frequent travel in France and abroad, sometimes during weekends.
