Don Sen Folo is an association based in Bancoumana, Mali.

Through our experiences of creation, production, diffusion, sharing and training, our structure has developed by specializing in recent years in the field of contemporary dance creation in common spaces (public space) / In Situ / In Vivo. This choice of specialization is the fruit of the following reflection and observation: if we want to contribute to the development of the creative sector, we must ensure that Malian and African artists can train, inform themselves, learn, communicate and transmit their know-how and their creations in a space that belongs to all, a public space with free access for all citizens.

The lesson we have learned from all our experiences is that we must think about the creation/production and dissemination of goods and services, and training adapted to the situation of our artists, adapted to our life contexts, adapted to our culture in Africa.

Living art and contemporary expression must remain in our daily life, for the blossoming of those who create, for the well-being of our populations, to promote the social cohesion of our societies, and finally to set up the cultural economy as the engine of our country.

The association organizes trainings (Formation Corps pour XXIIe siècle), artistic residencies (Gninini), a festival based on residencies and performances in the markets of Bamako (Fila Ni Kélé - Bamako) in order to :

- Support the emergence of new artistic practices, such as choreographic creation in public spaces, adapted to our cultures and societies.

-Facilitate access to culture for the population. To promote contemporary dance at the local level.

- To develop the cultural sector with inter-African relations. To share experiences and expertise in order to create new opportunities for artists and national and international structures.
