Since 2007, L’Art Rue works in the public space on the access to culture and the democratisation of arts. L’Art Rue works mainly in the Medina of Tunis creating opportunities for crossed interactions between the different types of users who live and work there but we also encourage “outsiders” to come and discover it. L’Art Rue works in the following main areas:

  • Encouraging artists to immerse themselves, through residencies and presentations of artwork in the Medina,
  • Designing and organising artistic and educational workshops for children of the medina with artist and transforming classroom in schools into a space devoted to arts where arts students can give workshops,
  • Organising debates/reflection and training on issues relevant to society and the role of arts, gathering interdisciplinary approach
  • Leading Dream City, a biennale of contemporary art in the public space within the Medina
