ARTinCIRCO is an Association of Social Promotion focusing on Contemporary Circus dissemination and audience development.
It aims to prompt new public toward Contemporary Circus and Performing Arts, also embracing other artistic fields (live music, acrobatic dance, theatre and body expression), facing first-time spectators especially among the youngest ones, thus programming tout public shows.
The Association founded ARTinCIRCO Festival in Ozzano dell’Emilia, a small town near Bologna, first edition in 2018, after early stages in 2016 and 2017.
In order to develop critical sensibility to poeticalness and theatrical gesture, the Association established an ever-open panel of members participating to all the programmed shows and designating people's choice award to the best one among the companies selected by artistic directors in each edition.
ARTinCIRCO promotes open educational workshops of juggling for all ages to introduce Circus techniques in any non-professional and playful contexts.
At a higher level, the Association aims to create opportunities to spread historic topics on the origin and development of Circus in the past, based on archive materials and academic research, beside supporting the up-to-date contemporary paths in performing.
