This General Meeting took place in Ghent (Belgium) in the frame of the second edition of Smells Like Circus, organised by Circuscentrum in partnership with Vooruit arts centre.

This event was the opportunity for the network members to gather for a General Meeting, whose agenda included a newsround session, workshops, internal working sessions, encounters with local cultural stakeholders, and many other activities!

Smells Like Circus

Since 2010, Vooruit and Circuscentrum have been teaming up to offer a programme, which resolutely puts contemporary circus In the spotlight. In 2015, they decided to go even further and created “Smells Like Cicus”, a unique 5-day programme that features circus in all its forms. Together, they signed in 2016 a second edition of “Smells like Circus” and invite Circostrada to join in on the occasion. 

The performing arts’ contemporary landscape today shows a fruitful hybridization between different artistic disciplines. This specific mix between juggling, choreography, visual arts, magic and theatre is what makes the singular identity of “Smells Like Circus”. 

On the festival agenda, among other things: company De Fracto, Rachid Ouramdane, Claudio Stellato, Cirque Mélangé ...
