De Spil organises over 400 cultural activities: theatre, music, comedy, circus, dance, film, exhibitions, festivals, community projects, arts education and workshops.

It is one of the keystones for circus and street arts in Flanders. Each season, it brings around 7 national and international circus shows and every three year, it organises the international circus and street arts festival "De groote stooringe". The festival integrates circus heritage and history into an exciting  formula, always looking for new formats to share circus with a diverse audience (Circus At Home project, 2015).

Although not an official creation centre, De Spil supports, coaches, nurtures circus artists whenever possible, by sharing knowledge and network contacts, offering rehearsal spaces or organising tours for international circus companies in Flanders.

De Spil est l’un des acteurs principaux des arts du cirque et de la rue en Flandre et propose plus de 400 activités culturelles : théâtre, musique, comédie, cirque, danse, film, expositions, festivals, projets communautaires, formation et ateliers.

A chaque saison, De Spil programme environ 7 spectacles de cirques nationaux et internationaux et organise tous les trois ans « De groote stooringe », festival international des arts du cirque et de la rue. A chaque édition, cet événement est l’occasion d’intégrer le patrimoine et l’histoire du cirque à la formule du festival, en cherchant toujours à explorer de nouvelles manières de partager les arts du cirque avec un public varié (Circus At Home project, 2015).

Bien que n'étant pas un centre de création artistique officiel, De Spil soutient, accompagne et encourage les artistes de cirque en partageant les connaissances de ses acteurs et de leur réseau, en proposant des espaces de travail ou encore en organisant des tournées en Flandre pour des compagnies de cirque.
