Mahatat for contemporary art is a Cairo-based social and cultural enterprise. Through contemporary art practices, it seeks to transform public spaces, create opportunities for exposure to the arts and offer needs-based learning experiences to artists, practitioners and entrepreneurs. Mahatat is one of the first Egyptian organizations for art in public space. Its areas of work include public art performances and tours, community art programs, developing learning and research systems, capacity building for artists and cultural entrepreneurship and management support.

​Vision: Mahatat envisions a society in which contemporary art is an accessible and visible part in everyday life and in public spaces.

Mission: Mahatat works toward the accessibility and the decentralization of contemporary art by developing art in public spaces and community art projects all over the country.

Mahatat pour l’art contemporain est une entreprise socio-culturelle basée au Caire. A travers les pratiques d’art contemporain, elle cherche à transformer les espaces publics, à créer des opportunités d’exposition aux arts et à offrir des expériences d’apprentissage répondant au mieux aux besoins des artistes, praticiens et entrepreneurs. Mahatat est l’une des premières organisations égyptiennes dédiée à l’art dans l’espace public. Ses domaines d’activité comprennent les performances artistiques publiques et les tournées, les programmes d’art communautaire, le développement de systèmes de recherche et d’apprentissage, le renforcement des capacités des artistes et de l’entreprenariat culturel, ainsi que le soutien managérial.

Vision : Mahatat entrevoit une société dans laquelle l’art contemporain est un pan à la fois visible et accessible de la vie quotidienne et de l'espace public.

Mission : Mahatat œuvre à promouvoir l’accessibilité et la décentralisation de l’art contemporain, en développant l’art dans l’espace public et les projets communautaires sur tout le territoire.
