KAHWA COMES BACK FOR A 3RD EDITION IN ABIDJAN

The next KAHWA Meeting will be held in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) from March 6 to 9, 2020, in partnership with and in the frame of RICA– Intercultural Circus Encounters and MASA – Abidjan Performing Arts Market. 

  • RICA (Rencontres Interculturelles du Cirque d’Abidjan) 

The Intercultural Meetings of Abidjan Circus is the first circus festival of Ivory Coast. It puts its population at the heart of artistic creation and create a unique moment of exchange and sharing to bridge people and cultures. Founded by La Fabrique Culturelle in partnership with l’Institut Français d’Abidjan. 

 

  • MASA (Marché des Arts du Spectacle d’Abidjan) 

The MASA (Abidjan Market for Performing Arts) is a cultural platform for promoting African Performing Arts. Its main objectives are: to support creativity and good quality productions, to facilitate the movement of artists and their works within Africa and throughout the world and to train artists and key professionals in the production field.

11:00-13:00 - Roundtable: 

The Circus and Public Art Landscape draws an uneven yet dynamic network across the continent, with leaders in creation (emerging artists and companies), training (Schools and School Projects) or diffusion (affirmation of new festivals). Why animate a regional network and how to strengthen the links between the operators of these sectors in Africa? Advantages, pitfalls, perspectives: how to build on the experiences of existing international networks?
