Circusbende is a wonderful chaos, a sudden rush of magic and a curious community. We are based in Amsterdam. Our main project is Circusbende Festival: an annual contemporary circus festival in the capital which consists of two long weekends at two different locations. Both weekends know a different programmation. You can find international and national circuscompagnies, work in process shows, a gala, music, sideshows, workshops and we organise a try-out stage for brand new acts of students and alumni.

Cirusbende has grown from 1.800 visitors in 2018 to more than 16.000 visitors in 2024. Two keywords we value are: Gastvrijheid - which is a very nice Dutch word for hospitality, literally translated as guestfreedom - and radical accessibility. The festival is organised in a public park and a public freespace at the edge of town.
