Chalon dans la rue is a « National Centre for Street Arts and Public Spaces », accredited by the French Ministry of Culture, which supports an artistic project involving the creation, dissemination and presentation to the public of works designed for the public space. It is both a place to support contemporary creation in the public space (hosting companies in residence, co-productions, regional projects, etc.) and the organiser of the Chalon dans la rue festival, the second-largest street art festival in France, with 200,000 spectators each year.
