The woerlpool agency (founded in 2021) organises and produces international tours of circus and theatre companies in Europe, especially in German-speaking countries (including "The 7 Fingers" and "Compagnia Finzi Pasca").
The agency also advises theatres and cultural centres on sustainability and green development.

After studying theatre directing in Munich, founder Markus Wörl worked for more than 30 years as a dramaturge, director and producer at various theatres and cultural centres in Germany and abroad.

For 13 years he was in charge of the cultural programme (theatre, contemporary circus and street art) of the theatre festival Tollwood in Munich, one of the leading and first festivals to combine culture and environmental commitment. It was the first major festival in Europe to be fully certified organic since 2003. Tollwood has received many international awards, including the "Green Operation Award of the European Festival Association", the "Bavarian State Medal for Services to the Environment and Health" and the "Healthy Cities Award".

Markus has been a speaker and panellist on Green Festivals and Sustainability at the Fresh Theatre Conference in Paris (hosted by the Institut Francais), GO Group Cologne, International Kulturbörse Freiburg 2021 & 2022, Sustainable Lab in Berlin and Stockton International Riverside Festival 2021,

He is a member of the Climate and Circus Working Group of the MICC (Marché International de Cirque Contemporain) in Montreal, Canada.

He is chairman of the examination board for event managers at the Munich Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and is currently developing further education courses on the topic of sustainable culture for the Chamber.

He is currently conducting a research project on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) to compare the reopening concepts of theatres after Corona.
