Touring Artists: information portal for internationally mobile artists

This project was initiated by the German International Theatre Institute and the Internationale Gesellschaft der Bildenden Künste (IGBK).

The portal provides information about legal regulations and administrative procedures in Germany, for foreign artists who work temporarily in Germany and for German artists who live in Germany but work abroad for a limited time.

The following topics are examined: taxes, social insurance, visas, transport, copyright, support for international exchange projects.

EU Report on Export and Internationalisation Strategies for the Cultural and Creative Industries

The European Expert Network on Culture (EENC) has published a new study of strategies and bodies in EU Member States that support the export and internationalisation of goods and services in the cultural and creative industries.

This document lists approximately 100 publications, policy documents and evaluation reports from the past five years, as well as around 230 bodies involved in the export and internationalisation strategies of CCIs, covering all EU Member States. The report was carried out by EENC members Judith Staines and Colin Mercer. You can download it here.

Theaterfestival Boulevard

Theaterfestival Boulevard uniquely combines the adventurous element of performing at unexpected locations in and around the city with shows and concerts in theatres and venues all over town. The program consists of highly artistic and yet accessible contemporary theatre, dance, music, musical theatre productions and street performances that inspire, comment, make audiences think and/or challenge them. The festival selects the most exceptional productions from performing artists from the Province of Noord-Brabant, the rest of the country and Western Europe. Theaterfestival Boulevard is also an artistic breeding ground. The festival contributes to the artistic and professional development of young and renowned stage performers providing all sorts of support to them during multi-year paths.

Tollwood

Taking chances and trying new things: This spirit lies at the heart of the Tollwood cultural program. In the summer it consists of theatre productions and performance theatre, concerts with stars from the international rock and jazz scene and performances by local and regional bands and artists. In the theatrical area, Tollwood has become especially known as a presenter of happenings, physical theatre, performance and nouveau cirque. In the music area, the slogan »big stars for small prices« applies, and at the same time on several stages free of charge Tollwood offers representatives of numerous musical genres from the Munich area an opportunity to perform and reach a wider audience.
In the winter, in addition to what a local newspaper calls »the most beautiful Christmas market in Munich«, within an overall theme Tollwood presents a large en-suite event (opera, variety show, musical) with a multi-course organic meal and coordinated theatre performances and readings by internationally known writers.

Letní Letná

Since its founding nine years ago, the festival Letní Letná has become an inseparable item on Prague and Czech cultural calendars, turning into an exceptional event in the Czech context. It is the only festival to systematically bring to the Czech Republic the best of new circus productions from around the world, while organizing a two-week marathon of activities for children and their parents on annual basis. Letní Letná has hosted such illustrious companies as Cirque Ici, Cirque Trottola, Les Colporteurs, Cahin Caha, Cirque Baroque and many more. The festival has also become a platform presenting Czech companies creating in the field of new circus and theatre to the general public: as the festival is very popular with the public, it means a great chance of mass publicity for such companies. Also Letni Letná brings together Czech and foreign artists, thus contributing to the development of the genre of new circus in the Czech Republic. Despite its great popularity (as many as 28,000 spectators per edition), the festival sticks to easy-going summer atmosphere, one that re- minds of the old circus times and is far from mass commercial events and their cheapness. Letní Letná is a traditional meeting point of friends, acquaintances, families with children and all who like to spend their free time in an active way.

HorsLesMurs

HorsLesMurs is the French national information centre for street arts and circus arts. Created in 1993 by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, it supports artistic activities through observation, documentation, training, expertise, research and publishing. HorsLesMurs has developed an international department and participates actively in several international networks (Circostrada Network, IETM, On-The-Move, ENICPA). Since the beginning, HorsLesMurs has been involved in Circostrada Network, as a founding member and as the secretariat of the platform.
HorsLesMurs has also a publishing department and publishes Stradda magazine as well as research papers in its collection Memento, or DVD presenting the aesthetics of circus and outdoor arts. HorsLesMurs was a founding member of TEAM Network of cultural magazines.
HorsLesMurs has a documentation department, collecting information from the field (contact database and documentation database) and hosting students and professionals in its spaces and help them (books, surveys, magazines, articles, academic texts, videos and pictures, posters, etc.).
HorsLesMurs has a consultancy and training activity, providing for free advice and support for project holders (legal and administrative issues, communication, production and distribution)

Tallinn Creative Hub / SA Tallinna Kultuurikatel is a creative combination of a physical facility and a platform for networks and knowledge. Our organization is carrying on legacy of European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011. Kultuurikatel as a building is a multi-functional venue in Tallinn offering a comprehensives environment for professionals for organising comfortably and effectively and a contemporary multi-layered (cultural) experience for the visitor. Tallinn Creative Hub offers its services to three target groups: professionals of culture and creative industries and beyond, visitors of events in Kultuurikatel, tourists. Related to the target groups the activities of Tallinn Creative Hub are divided into four pillars: Events Centre, Development Centre, Cultural Object, Tourist Destination. New Circus Centre is part of the Development Centre, which offers to professionals services of initiating or magnifying interdisciplinary (cultural) projects and increasing export, creates networks and clusters for local and international interdisciplinary cooperation and produces and develops educational and audience programmes. Development Centre also offers services to permanent tenants. Tallinn Creative Hub is the only centre in Estonia promoting interdisciplinary cooperation while focusing on connecting culture and other sectors.

En Piste

En Piste networks with numerous partners for the purpose of supporting performers, new projects, training organizations, show producers and presenters. We target all parties involved in the circus arts, including presenters, businesses linked to the circus arts, the media and the general public. We also work to raise the profile and popularity of our local Canadian circus arts.
//Information, events and representation: En Piste develops communication tools, in order to become the premier resource in Canada for the dissemination and sharing of information related to the circus arts. Each year, En Piste organizes trade events such as the National Forum on the Circus Arts or roundtables. It also represents and promotes the circus arts at different events like CINARS, RIDEAU or during various festivals. //Continuing education: Every year, En Piste rolls out a continuing education program with different governmental partners. //Creation: En Piste works to stimulate the ‘artistic' side of the circus arts. En Piste is also available to artists eager for advice, who wish to discuss their projects or obtain information that can help them achieve their goals. //Presentation: En Piste promotes the circus arts and their vitality to presenters and their various networks. We sensitize them to the emergence of the discipline, and also encourage as well as answer questions related to presenting the circus arts.

De rue et de cirque (2r2c)

Created in 20015, the cooperative, a sponsored site for streets and circus arts and creative assistance, is subsidised by the town of Paris, Ile de France region, and the Cultural Ministry. 2r2c facilitates in this way streets arts and supports big Tops performances in towns centers. This mobility is possible thanks to partnership with other cultural organisations or structures in this way, 2r2c supports creativity by diffusing shows putting in place creative sites and logistic / or financial assistance.Throughout the year, 2r2c assists the teachers and the initiation of their pupils and the training of animators. Of Streets and Circus also cooperate with tomorrow´s spectators and the professionnals who assist them.

Call for projects: Just So Festival 2014

Wild Rumpus, a not-for-profit social enterprise, is looking to commission three companies to create new work to be previewed at Cheshire's Just So Festival in 2014 and potentially to tour it in 2014/2015.

Successful companies will receive a commission of £3000, plus production support from Wild Rumpus including mentoring, residential opportunities in an outdoor environment, and the chance to show work-in-progress to audiences for feedback. In addition to the commissioning fee the chosen projects will then be programmed over 3 days, 15-17 August at the 2014 Just So Festival, for a fee of £1,000 exclusive of VAT. The deadline is 30 June 2013.
