Labor Cirque

The Cologne based Circus Center “ZAK Zirkus- und Artistikzentrum Köln” organises in collaboration with “Initiative Neuer Zirkus e.V.” an artistic research project called “Labor Cirque”. This laboratory focuses on the genre-transcending aspect of contemporary Circus. Together with professional artists, musicians and dancers, the aim is to develop a platform for experimentation.

The research component will be rounded off with a symposium where the results will be shown and discussed. There will also be a panel discussion on the question how to create and to stage contemporary circus pieces.

The symposium will be held on 22 June 2013 at ZAK in Cologne. International artists, performers, circus researchers and other professionals from the performing arts are invited to attend!
