The International Association for Creation and Training (I-act) is an organization based in Alexandria, founded in 2004 by the Egyptian Theatre director and playwright, Mahmoud Aboudoma. I-act works in the fields of Arts and Culture using art as a tool for social development. I-act is a member of TAMASI collective, I-act created “Teatro Eskendria” which is an arts space and social hub in Alexandria. It is a multi-purpose space. One of the main achievements of I-act in Alexandria is the Creative Forum for Independent Theatre Groups in cooperation with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. I-act initiated its first edition of the Backstreet festival in 2012. The slogan was “Towards art in non-traditional spaces” and it’s taking place every year ever since. In 2014, the second edition was organized under the slogan “The Joy Project".
